
Jake Shultz
Background
Jake began his career in rescue at age 16 as an Ocean Lifeguard in Southern California. He then received his EMT certification and transitioned to the San Bernardino Mountains, where he has worked as a Professional Ski Patroller for the past seven years. He currently leads his resort's Technical Rescue program and oversees all patrol training operations, with a focus on rope rescue, patient care, and team development. Jake also serves as a Team Lead on a REMS (Rapid Extraction Module Support) team, providing medical and technical rope rescue support on wildland fires throughout the western United States. With a background spanning ocean, mountain, and fireline environments, Jake brings a well-rounded, field-tested perspective to rescue operations and instruction.
